North West 200 Tuesday Practice 2013

Headed up to the first practice day off the North West 200 today, thankfully the weather was pretty kind to us. Michael Dunlop was on fire today again, 7 seconds over 2nd place man Bruce Anstey in the Superbike practice.

Stuart Easton, Lee Johnston and Karl “Bomber” Harris pre North West 200 test day

I went to Kirkistown today to take a few photos of Stuart Easton, Lee Johnston and Karl “Bomber” Harris testing for North West 200. Stuart was testing the Martrain R1 Yamaha Superbike. Lee Johnston was testing his Supertwin and Honda Supersport bikes, he was also seeing how well his leg had healed after he broke it month or so ago.  Karl “Bomber” Harris was testing the Millsport Ducati.

 

Tandragee 100 2013

Tandragee 100 road race was held on Friday 3rd and Saturday on 4th May. Photos are a mix from Friday practice and Saturday race day.

Michael Dunlop was unbeatable in the the “big” open races, winning by a large margin over the rest of the field.

 

 

Ulster Supermoto Championship Round 2 2013

Sunday at Nutts Corner market track saw the 2nd Round of the Ulster Supermoto Championship. There was a good turn out of riders for all classes for the event and the weather stayed dry thankfully.

First action of the day as always was the Prestige Quad class, Mark Donnelly from Omagh scored a hat trick of wins, but they didn’t come easy Cathal McCartan pushed him hard the first two races. Unfortunately Cathal’s bike suffered engine problems in race two. Overall results for the day for the prestige quads were as follows 1st Mark Donnely, 2nd Emma Mackin and 3rd Banbridges Diane Hillis.

The Clubman quad class followed it gets bigger every round with more competitiors. The overall results for the day were Niall McCullagh 1st, Deividas Gordonas 2nd and Pauric Mohan in 3rd.

Clubman Solos class were out next, Championship leader Andy Wing suffered a crash in free practice which resulted in him having to go home injured and missing rest of day. Young Ryan Odlum from Co.Wicklow was the star of the day, his first time out at supermoto he got a 3rd in his first race and then two wins and was award man of the meeting trophy. Overall results 1st Ryan Odlum, 2nd Kris Clarke and 3rd Eoin Smith.

Prestige Solo class saw some great close racing in all three races. Omagh’s Chris Thompson won the first two races of the day, in the first race Philip Wylie was 2nd and Ryan Fenton 3rd. Ryan and Philip switched steps on the podium for 2nd race with Ryan 2nd and Philip 3rd. In the final race Philip Wylie got the better off Chris Thompson getting the win with Chris a close 2nd and Bruce Drummond 3rd. Overall day results were Chris Thompson 1st, Philip Wylie 2nd and Ryan Fenton 3rd.

Next Supermoto action is the 2nd Round of the Supermoto NI club championship which will be held at the Nutts Corner Market track on the 2nd June.

Cookstown 100 Road race 2013

Cookstown 100 road races were held last Friday and Saturday. Michael Dunlop was the man to beat, getting two Superbike wins and a win on the Supertwin.
